On this week's episode of #TruthtoPower, IntelStor's Founder & CEO, Philip Totaro presents the generation and efficiency of the global #offshorewind energy market from the IntelStor Future of Renewables #marketresearch Report.

Generation of offshore wind energy has seen rapid growth in the past 15 years, as the industry increased from 100 MW installed to just under 100 GW installed. By 2030, the industry should achieve a total of 567 terawatt hours with 39% coming from Europe 33.7% coming from the Asia Pacific region and up to 27.2% from the Americas region.

Average capacity factor analysis for offshore wind shows that the installed capacity in the Americas operates most efficiently with a capacity factor of just over 49%. By contrast, Europe’s average capacity factor at 26.8% indicates the impact of asset age on the degradation of performance. In the Asia Pacific region, which is dominated by China, the average capacity factor for offshore wind is just 25.5%.
